KitchenAid KSB465OB 4-Speed Countertop Blender with 48-Ounce Polycarbonate Jar, Onyx Black

We like to buy things that last
So, after 30 years, we needed a new blender. Hmmm. My wife and I hadn't a clue where to start nor what was out there. On my first two internet searches all I found were the two extremes: small fractional Hp motors or the ridiculously priced $400 to $500 unit.

And yes, of course we want to crush ice - who doesn't? I have enough engineering background to know that a 0.2 to 0.5 Hp motor is NOT going to crush ice. Finally, we found the KitchenAid models! Some were 0.9 Hp, which is more like it. The pitcher (I call it) was a larger diameter and a little squat - perfect design for better blending, not to mention storage.

We decided that two speeds just wasn't enough, 3 speeds would be borderline and we certainly didn't want anything ridiculous like 10 or 15 speeds. (That's what they do when the motor is underpowered to do the job.) We settled on the KitchenAid KSB465Wh 4-speed with 48 ounce jar and 0.9 Hp motor. The weight wasn't given but the appearance gave...

A clear winner!
After doing more blender research than I care to admit to myself, I narrowed my search to three blenders. I selected this model after speaking to a most informed and helpful Kitchenaid customer service rep who answered my remainding questions one Saturday afternoon. Since, they staffed their customer serviced department on the weekends, I was already impressed. This blender replaced a just out-of-warranty Cuisinart blender which I loved, until it died a premature death, I can say without hestiattion this model is far better. Since I use our blender daily to make breakfast smoothies, some with ice, I thought my blender needs were simple. Quite to the contrary, I discovered. There is no middle ground when it comes to chopping ice and this blender does a superb and lighin' quick job. I add very frozen berries to the morning mix and this blender handles them beautifully. The performance, design, ease of operation and cleaning each have exceeded my expectations.

I love the KitchenAid blender but . . .
This review is for the KitchenAid KSB465RT 4-speed countertop blender with the 48-ounce polycarbonate jar in empire red.

Revised rating to say that this blender leaked underneath the jar. It lasted well but one day I "boiled" it over accidentally and that killed it. I did re-purchase a pink one because I really like this blender design. My newer one has not leaked. I do, however, keep one hand on the handle to keep it from moving at all, and another on the lid to hold it down firmly while running it. I still recommend this blender, but be prepared to return it immediately if it leaks underneath.

THE LID: The lid design is much better than the Oster beehive. The Oster used to toss food on the wall and down the sides of the jar sometimes, making a mess that was hard to reach to clean on the base. This lid has a deep flange so food doesn't escape the blender.

THE JAR: The KitchenAid jar is plastic. That means it's lightweight, and it won't break...

Duraflame Infrared Rolling Mantel - 5200 BTU, 1500 Watts, Model# 23IF1714-0107

My first electric heater/fireplace mantel
I love my duraflame infrared electric heater /fireplace mantel. It's my first so I hope I get a lot of enjoyment out of it. It pumps out the heat! I have it in my livingroom and it keeps it comfortable. I keep it on 72F the default setting and the heater auto shuts itself off when it reaches it's temperature, an when it drops in the room it comes back on.The heater is not loud. It also has an auto timer too which is nice! Also a flame adjuster and remote. When you shut the unit off the fan will keep blowing to cool the components down(for a few minutes). Also the wheels on the mantel are convenient, because you can roll it into any room to "knock the chill off "without turning your heater up in your home. The picture actually didn't do it justice. I was impressed with the mantel nice wood finish, beautiful and I fell in love with the flame, it is very real looking. My parents have a duraflame infrared electric heater stove at their house and I was impressed with the real...

Best purchase I ever made
We live in a 1970s mobile home with 2 additions. Its not very well insulated and to make matters worse, our furnace ducts run under the belly of the home where they are exposed to the cold air. Our propane bill hit $650.00 for just 5 weeks of heat, and we knew we were in trouble. So we bought this electric fireplace for our living/dining/kitchen/hallway and use it along with 3 smaller infrared heating unts (one in each bedroom) and our house stayed comfortably (70 degrees) warm the rest of winter. It felt SOOO good to call the propane company and tell them we didnt need them to come back out for a LONG time. (our water heater is still propane but Im considering changing that) Even better, Our electric bill has stayed under 200 bucks and I am one HAPPY CAMPER!!! Our total investment in all 4 units is less than we paid for one month of propane!!!!! No more wondering how we will ever be able to afford to heat our home.

-It is every bit as beautiful as it looks...

infrared fireplace
I couldn't believe how quick we received our fireplace. it's beautiful, heats the room nice and evenly too. we had a propane fireplace, up near the ceiling it would be hot and the floor would be cold. now it's nice and toasty high and low.. the fire sure looks real too. we really love our fireplace. we have only owned it a few days so not sure how the electric bill will be but i do know the furnace hasn't kicked on all afternoon. so saving on propane for sure. great item.

Oreck XL 2000 Upright Commercial 8 lb Vacuum Hypo-Allergenic Filtration

A Mixed Bag
I've owned three different Oreck XLs over the course of six years and used them 5 days a week for most of that time, so I can say with confidence that I'm well aware of the pros and cons of this model. I wanted a vacuum powerful enough to handle cleaning two or three big houses a day that wasn't too heavy to lift in and out of the trunk several times a day. On those two points, the XL clearly does excel. With an empty bag it's only 8lbs, making it by far the lightest upright vac I've found that can do the job. And when it's functioning properly it performs very well. When it isn't you're going to run into some problems.

Here's the good -

1. As I said, this vacuum is extremely light and highly maneuverable, which does somewhat make up for it's lack of a hose with attachments. It can lay completely flat for getting underneath furniture, and it absolutely glides over hard wood or most carpets. Elderly housekeepers may find this especially appealing, since it's...

great for allergies and animal hair
I have had an Oreck for 18 years and I won't own any other kind of vacuum. I worked for Merry Maids which that is all they use. I have used it on all types of flooring and hauled it from house after house when I was working. Now I am at home all the time and I bought one when I quit working and I won't own any other vacuum. I have raise dogs and I have not found another vacuum that will pick up the hair like the Oreck. I just can't say enough good about it. I keep looking at them and saving for a new one I can't wait to get one. My 18 year old Oreck that I have has a few broken parts but it is still doing it's job and very well. We also had a port a vac which we took with at work so naturally I bought one of those which is also 18 years old it is still working but also needs to be replaced but with those two items you really can't go wrong.

Love My New Oreck
I'm in love--with my new commercial Oreck! In the last 7 years, I have gone through 3 vacuums. My all tile house took a toll on the wheels of all 3 Kenmores that I owned. They did a great job picking up the dog hair, and cleaning my rugs--but not so good on the dust. My old Orecks were non-commercial ones that developed electrical cord problems. That's why I tried tried the Kenmore uprights.
This new Oreck has been terrific so far. I had forgotten how light an Oreck is! I can vacuum my mattresses, dog beds, couch cushions by just lifting the Oreck onto the surface. I do still swiffer after I vacuum, but I'm down to one swiffer cloth instead of three. (We live in southern Nevada with lots of wind and dust storms) It also has a more compact head so it goes under more of my furniture and around tight spaces.
When I read the other reviews before I bought my Oreck, two negatives were mentioned; the loudness and the smell from the bags. First, my Kenmores were just as...

Genuine Eureka AA Eureka & WhirlWind Vacuum Bag 58236B - 3 pack

It's a bag, it sucks, which is good
What's there to say it's a vacuum bag... just put it in megamaid and suck, suck, suck! What else umm.. there's 3 of them in the bag, so once you're done sucking all the air out of planet Druidia you have 2 more for other planets. Just remember, the combination is 12345, same thing I have on my luggage.

Eureka & Whirlwind AA Vacuume Bag
I own a very old Eureka vacuum cleaner and I just checked on Amazon to see if I could find bags for it and to my surprise I found my size vacuum cleaner bags. This is a very good brand of vacuum cleaner bags, I'm sure they carry it in other sizes as well. I Recommend this sell for your vacuum cleaner needs. They even carry my size belts for my vacuum cleaner.

works good
Bought them for a friend, its a good vacuum bag just like the ones the when I first purchased the vacuum. Easy to use holds a lot
No messing with emptying a cannister.

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Stone Pro Sharpening Stone

A must have for quality knifes.
I just purchased this product to use on my Henckels knifes. About two years ago i purchased a set of 5 star Henckels knifes, after good use they were starting to become pretty dull, the sharpening steel that came with the set did the trick for about 2 or 3 uses but then it was back to being dull. I was told what i needed to have was a sharpening stone and use it in conjunction with the steel.

The written directions were straight forward and somewhat easy to understand. The diagrams though were a little difficult to understand for a novice, but i jumped on Youtube and looked up knife sharpening which made it pretty complete.

There's two side, one a rough sharpening stone and the othere a smooth for finishing. I put a little bit of water on the stone, after i was done using both the stone and the steel sharpener my knifes are just as good as when i bought them.

No good kitchen is complete without a stone sharpner, sharp knifes equals safe fingers.

An effective, affordable sharpening stone
This product effectively sharpens Henckels knives after they begin to dull over time. I would definitely advise practicing with some junk knives until you are familiar with the sharpening motions. I won't say the stone restores the original sharpness, but I have been very happy with the results. I imagine that with time and practice, one would be able to sharpen knives to near original sharpness. I prefer to use the stone to other knife sharpeners because it will not gouge the blade as long as the instructions are carefully followed.

The only problem I have had with this stone has to do with shipping. I ordered one for myself and it arrived with a cracked and chipped case, which I fixed with super glue. I ordered a second stone as a gift and it also had a cracked and chipped case. I did not have any problems with broken or cracked stones on either order. The merchant should probably better prepare this product for shipment.

Very satisfied
This stone gets my cold forged, stainless steel knives razor sharp. I have had this stone combination for a couple years now and it works great. The plastic case with rubber stops holds the stone well on the counter top. The coarse grit side quickly get all the nicks out of the blade and reshapes the bevel. The fine side puts on a mirrored, razor edge. You have to know how to do the work but after a little practice you can feel when the angle is right. I am very satisfied with this product.

EdenPURE GEN3 Model 1000 Quartz Infrared Heater

Frigid_out_West
We purchased the EdenPure 1000XL directly from the manufacture, BioTech Research (Canton, OH). It took twice as long as we were told to arrive and the remote did not work right out of the box. Within five days the unit started turning off and not coming back on despite waiting for hours and room temperture dropping to the point the propane furnace came on.

In order to get the unit to restart I had to turn the "power" button "off" and unplug the unit for anywhere from 5-20 minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on.

Only after our experience did I look further into online reviews of EdenPure products which are not favorable. I also checked into BioTech Research (Canton, OH) through the Ohio Better Business Bureau and saw that BioTech has had numerous complaints from customers with similar problems.

Edenpure is a rip off per Consumer Reports
Reported by: John Matarese

Viewers have been asking me about a space heater advertised in newspapers and on Paul Harvey's radio show the past few weeks.

It's the EdenPure space heater .... a heater so "advanced," it can supposedly cut your heating bill up to 50%.The cost: $400...four times the price of most heaters.

Our partners at Consumer Reports magazine have tested it and other heaters.

Is the EdenPure Amazing?

The results of the test of the heavily advertised EdenPure were not promising. The $400 EdenPure ended up at the bottom of the ratings. It was the worst performing of 20 space heaters tested.

Top Performing Heaters

Top rated: The Honeywell Electric heater HZ-519, for just $60. (It's sold by Home Depot and Amazon.com, among other stores, but it may be in short supply, due to Consumer Reports' review. Honeywell makes some similar models wtihout the digital display that you may want to consider.)...

No Better Than Other Space Heaters
I purchased the edenpure 1000 and found that the main difference between it and other space heaters is price. I own several other space heaters including one 1500 watt unit with a fan and one 1500 watt oil filled radiator style heater. I can't tell any real difference in the heating ability of any of them except one thing...price. I purchased an oil filled radiant heater from Target for $28 which seems to do just as well as the edenpure which cost hundreds of dollars more. Not a good value.

49973900 Black & Decker Vacuum Cleaner Replacement Filter

Fits perfectly
These filters are the perfect fit for my Black & Decker CWV9630 Wet/Dry 9.6 volt Dust Buster.

WVF30 Dustbuster Wet Dry Vac 9.6 Volt replacement filters
I give this product a great rating because it is the filters for the 9.6 Volt Wet Dry Vac Dustbuster which are extremely hard to find. The filter is the WVF30 filter. The description from the company never states that, that is why I felt this reveiw would be helpful. Also, they came in a reasonable amount of time.

Fits Black & Decker Dust Buster (CWV9630)
What more is there to say? These filters are the ones you need for the Black & Decker Dust Buster wireless hand vac, model CWV9630. I have the lime green/white model, in case you have the same.
If you're not sure what model you have, look under the vac, on there you should see a sticker where the electrical description of the vac is. There you'll see the model number next to where says Type 1.
The filter itself is the original part as far as I'm concerned. It fist like the old one did and that's all I needed. At this price you should at least buy a couple, like I did, because these filters for some reason are hard to find localy. Good luck.
