Currently this Amazon page is lacking in some details about this unit, most notably that it is a 1200 WATT unit, not 1100 WATTs like most 1.4 cu.ft. units. So that's pretty sweet, right?

Note that this model does not have a "sensor" feature like some more expensive models have. Nevertheless, this is actually a slight better-than-normal feature-set for this price range/class (sub-$100) of microwave. What impresses me is the extra wattage, and that I like the idea of...

Good Microwave with handle on door
I did not want another microwave with a push button to open it. So I found this one with a handle. It works just fine and the window on the front allows us to see in better than any microwave that we had before. We are happy with it and it looks nicer than are other GE microwave ever did. They all cook about the same in my opinion.

Update: March 2013 This microwave is starting to malfunction. When you press the on button everything works except no heat unless you jiggle it a little on the side. We have only moved it once since we got it so it should not be doing this so soon. We do not abuse our microwaves in any way and use it only a few times per day. I expect it to die completely any day now after only a couple of years. All our old microwaves lasted for 8 to 10 years and usually we gave them away just because we wanted a new one with more features.

A lot for a reasonable priced microwave.
After looking for several weeks for a microwave that would fit in a small space under a counter, I found a GE microwave that had pretty okay reviews. It arrived, and we realized immediately that the strength was so poor that it took 5 minute to partially pop a bag of popcorn. I sent it back to Amazon the next day.

So I saw this one, and it was essentially the same size outside, but while the other one was .7, this one 1.2 inside. And the power level was much stronger. We tried it out the first night, and it worked very well and very quickly. The keyboard is easy to use, and there are many other function buttons that work well too. Made perfect baked potatos, reheated lasagna in 2 minutes.

We are very happy with this purchase. I would highly recommend it.
