KitchenAid Silver Blender (KSB560CU)

Noisy, but otherwise very good
Our new KitchenAid blender was a replacement for a Cuisinart blender with a heavy glass pitcher... a generation back where the pitcher had more of a conical shape that was much narrower at the bottom. We knocked the pitcher over a couple of times and it finally shattered, leaving shards around the kitchen. So we wanted to go for a polycarbonate pitcher with our next purchase and decided to try this KitchenAid.

So the KitchenAid motor isn't as finely tuned as a Lexus or Acura as it's more than a little noisy; however, the KitchenAid uses less gasoline and puts out fewer fumes.

The relative light weight of the polycarbonate pitcher and large mixing area at the bottom of the blending chamber seem to make for fewer hotspots and less clumping in mixing & blending pastes and solids. The pitcher is very well constructed and forms an effective shield to prevent leaks from getting onto the metal couplings on the main unit. With a nicely designed spout it also enables...

Wonderful ice cream shake maker
We have been trying other blenders with horrible results. We wanted one that could handle thick ice cream and blend into shakes/malts for the kids. All seemed to make you keep stopping and push down the ice cream and start up again. This blender you usually don't need to keep pushing it down and keeps pulling it down unless you just have to much ice cream in the jar. I am so glad I splurged and went with this blender. It has plenty of power

Good blender
A bit noisy but otherwise a great blender. The connector between the base and the attachment started to get loose and wouldn't connect properly so my husband had to go in and tighten in and all is fine now. We have morning protein shakes so this blends up frozen bananas, frozen bluberries, and ice in a cinch. I like the pulse feature and the fact that they buttons are smooth for easy cleaning.
