Top quality- or so I thought
This element is long enough to dry fire - you can use it in the air like a oven element. In terms of product per dollar, this is tops for anyone with high calcium and high electric water use. I would bet if you cleaned it once every 2 years, it would last forever. Dont forget to vacuum out the crud on your tanks bottom at the same time. Often the lower element is operating in a mass of calcite.
Okay, Disappointment: One of these burned out in just 3 months or less. Looks like their MFG' process is poorer than their promises and ideas. I'll report back if they honor the warranty.
Okay update: this seller will not honor the lifetime warranty. Said to call the MFG. The MFG. which is Camco, says True value stores must handle warranty issues and then get a credit from them, they will not deal with the end user. But this Rons hardware just does not care and will not intervene or offer a replacement or credit - I supose its too much work for them to get a cresit...
Elements were as described and installed easily
An item like this is hard to rate since it will be long term usage that determines my overall satisfaction. I can say however that the elements appear to be of quality construction and materials and installed without a hitch in my hot water tank. My hot water tank no longer "sings" when the elements are energized so presumably these elements will last longer and not calcify as quickly as the straight elements I replaced which were calcified.
Great for brewing
This element lives inside my 15 gallon boil kettle for electric brewing. It raises temperatures quickly and can sustain a 7gal boil at 60% power. Hasn't rusted or given me any issues after many batches.
