Mary Ellen's Best Press Refills 1 Gallon-Scent Free

Best Press is BEST for ironing
I disagree completely with the 2 out of 5 review. Best Press is not at all like spray starch. Spray starch will be flaky, mess up your iron and invite unwanted critters to your fabric. Best Press, on the other hand (particularly this unscented formula) will not stink up your breathing area, mess up your iron, leave residue on the cloth/clothes, or bring on the unwanted critters (particularly if you are using it on wall hangings which usually don't get much in the way of being laundered). It firms up fabric but doesn't stiffen, making it a breeze to sew with, plus it helps stabilize fabric for cutting. Most of this opinion is from a quilting/sewing perspective, but your family will also appreciate that their ironed clothes look great but are not stiff!

Great for Quilting
This product is really best used when quilting. The fabric doesn't get too stiff but is easier to cut and sew. It's also great because it doesn't attract silverfish the way starch does. Silverfish are attracted to starch and they will eat holes in your clothing and fabric. I love this product.

great stuff
I love Best Press. If you are a sewer & especially a quilter, you will love it. For quilting, it makes the fabric crisp so it makes it much easier to rotary cut your fabric. It's great when you are sewing fabric on the bias, it keeps it from stretching when you are sewing it. It's great when you are trying to get your seams crisp but not stiff. It's not like starch, it doesn't make the fabric stiff & there is no flaking like starch sometimes can do. The different scents are nice, not to fragrant. They do have unscented if you'd like. I won't sew without it
