Good deal!!!
Compared to the named brand storage rolls these were surprisingly better! I own a food saver machine but was always having a tough time with the food saver bags...on top of running out quickly..after a search on Amazon I came across these bags...I was kinda skeptical at first because you get a LARGE roll that you can cut to size & all for such a low price but the moment I used it was pleasantly happy on how well they worked! This is my second time ordering this product and am sticking with it. I do a lot of sealing of fish and need something I can rely on, and this is it!
Will not seal if you put ends in foodsaver channel
I bought this roll based on all the positive reviews to use with my foodsaver.
Using the bags as per foodsaver instructions, the bags don't get a tight seal AT ALL! The foodsaver just keeps vacuuming and doesn't stop to seal.
My husband figured out that if you put the bag over the channel instead of into, they will seal properly.
I buy labels and stick them on. They're not as user friendly as a foodsaver roll, but they are pocket friendly!
9/3/13 UPDATE
Well, I finished an entire roll and bought 3 more. Now that we've figured out how to use these puppies, I've upped my rating to 4 stars. They work well and defrost well. I do have to double seal the bags when cutting to size simply because I've noticed the seals coming undone. I love defrosting cooked food in the microwave because it defrosts faster. However, corn does not steam well in these bags. We still have to boil that. I have a LOT more space in my freezer and I don't have a...
Nice bags
Bags are very adequate for freezing food. I prefer the roll of material for sealing food to enable varied sizing of the sealing pouch. This seems to be a little more expensive unless working with a lot of material all the same size.
